As gearheads, there’s one thing that is unacceptable, and unforgivable: stealing someone’s ride. If you’ve ever had a car stolen, especially one that you put some time and effort into, then you know that it’s one of the worst feelings to have. And when this happens, it’s a time to pull together and put aside our Ford/Chevy/Mopar differences and strengthen our efforts.
Sadly, last week a very cool car was stolen from the Four Points Hotel in Bakersfield, California. But the suspicion is not that it was a random theft, sources state that the thieves knew what they were doing and knew how to start the custom-built musclecar.
The white 1966 Ford Fairlane was stolen from the parking lot of the hotel last Wednesday evening where it was last seen. The Fairlane would most definitely stand out, and has quite a few custom parts that went into this build. The Bakersfield police responded quickly, and if anyone has a tip or knowledge of the whereabouts of the car, they’re encouraged to contact the Bakersfield Police Department at (661) 327-7111.
The car belonged to Street Rodder Magazine and was part of the ARP/Street Rodder Road Tour. The California license plate reads 7TTV301, and the white on red beauty with a black hood can’t be missed. Let’s hope that the car is found, the thieves are jailed, and that the car isn’t stripped to pieces. Whether you are a Ford, Chevy, or Mopar fan, this one stings because not one of us can say that our hard work should be someone else’s reward. Keep your eyes open and help get the word out.
