When it comes to performance suspensions, Chris Alston’s Chassisworks is a name that has been around for a long time. We heard the Chassisworks team was working on a couple of new items, so we asked Lino Chestang to fill us in. He said, “New for this year as part of our KP Components is the ’63 to ’72 C10 short bed rear frame conversion.
This is the perfect solution for turning a long bed truck into the more popular short bed version. It comes in either a coilover or airbag style suspension system, and we also have two versions of the frame. For those enthusiasts that want the ultimate in a low truck, we have our through-bed kit that requires the truck bed floor to be modified. We also have a kit for the person that doesn’t want to cut the truck bed.”
But wait, there’s more. Lino continued, “We also have a new trailing arm suspension for the ’63 through ’72 Chevy C10. This kit is actually available in three versions: an air bag suspension, coilover suspension, or an air spring over shock configuration.” Both of these truck suspensions are designed to work with a factory rearend, and utilize either a Panhard bar or Watt’s link.”
Finally, Lino introduced us to a new, much needed part for musclecar guys, “This is a billet aluminum spindle with improved suspension geometry,” said Lino. “We have fitments for ’64 to ’72 Chevelle, first-gen Camaro, and ’68 to ’72 Nova as well. It comes in either a dropped height or standard height version, and we have a bump steer corrected, A-body steering arm to work with it, and also a z28 style arm.”
So whether you’re cruising and styling in a musclecar or truck, Chassisworks can make your ride’s suspension a knockout performer. Check out www.chassisworks.com for more information.
