Here at powerTV, we like finding rare and unique performance cars for sale on eBay. Coming across classics that may have been forgotten about or projects of meticulous owners are not hard to find. However, finding something that is truly one of a kind and never seen before is more difficult. Our friends over at AutoBlog found such a vehicle, and we must say, this car shouldn’t be missed.
Recreating movie cars has become an attractive hobby for movie car enthusiasts. Not only are these cars eye-catching, they usually have special features unique to the movies and scenes they are in.
Whether you’re a movie-goer or not, some movie cars, like the Batmobile, are known world wide- and created over and over. But the Batmobile that AutoBlog found on eBay is not just another remake. It is the only known turbine-powered Batmobile.
The Keaton-era Batmobile was created by owner Casey Putsch. It is no wonder that the car has less than 2,000 miles on it as it is powered by a Boeing turboshaft engine, like the ones typically found powering military helicopters. Comically, the Batmobile is equipped with a CD player- not that you’d be able to hear much from it over the engine. There is even a YouTube video of the Batmobile so you can see it in all its glory.
While movie car replicas can range from cheap to expensive, this one sports a hefty “Buy it Now” price tag. To avoid the hassle of bidding on the Batmobile, one can expect to pay $620,000. So if you’re looking for a radical way to spend more money than a lot of people spend on a house, check out the eBay ad for bidding and owner contact information.
