We’ve seen an explosion in interest for Chevy trucks lately, as well as an increase in demand for later model cars like the 1978 to 1996 GM B-body. While we never thought trucks and “mom’s Chevy” would ever get this kind of attention, the time is now. As a reaction to that increase in demand, QA1 is introducing a few products to the market that people building these once overlooked models will be pleased with.
“We have a lot of new components for GM models this year,” Damian Brase of QA1 explained. He was referring to the companies coilover and non-coilover suspensions for ’63-’87 Chevy C10 trucks, sway bars and rear suspension for ’63-’72 C10 trucks, and suspension systems for the ’78-’96 GM B-body cars. “So far, we’ve had 26 different vehicles through our R&D facility,” he said. And that is just this year alone.
“We’ve had this stuff available for about a month now, and there’s been a really good response to it,” Damian said about the B-body equipment. “It’s an all bolt-in suspension with no cutting required. However, there are a couple of holes to drill for the rear coilovers, but that’s not a big deal.”
Damian also told us about some new innovations in the area of ’88-’98 Chevy C1500 pickups. “We’ve got a great new setup for this. It’s really similar to a lot of our front Pro-Coil systems that customers may be accustom to,” he explained. “The t-bar mounts on the top side of the factory control arms and the spring fits in the factory spring pocket in the frame rail.” They also offer different levels of adjustment and rates for the springs in the C1500 systems.
