It would take patience that we didn’t have or Moses to part the throng of people swarming the Lokar booth at this year’s SEMA show to allow us enough time to photograph the amazingly meticulous ’67 Chevelle parked in their booth. If they handed out Ridler awards for muscle cars, this Bow Tie would surely have earned it. Nothing on the graphite gray A-Body was untouched. It was, from what we could tell, perfect.

A big part of this Chevelle’s exquisite form was Lokar. Backing the modified and moderately disguised all-aluminum LS plant powering this street machine was a Tremec 6-speed, rowed by Lokar’s all-new Billet Aluminum Shifter Handles for the Tremec TKO500 and TKO600. Attached by two Grade A bolts, the shifter mounts effortlessly to the modern gearbox.

In addition to the shifter was one of all-new Lokar’s Billet Aluminum Shifter Boot Bezels and Boots. These add quite a bit of class to an otherwise Spartan interior, and are available in either black, brushed aluminum or chrome.

The final new goodie from the venerable street rod brand was its new Drive-By-Wire Electric Throttle Control Pedal Assembly. With so many modern V8s going “fly by wire” these days, Lokar paired up with Williams Controls to make what is not only a gorgeous piece, but one that truly does what it’s supposed to do.

Years ago, people looked at Lokar as a making of really nice “blingy” street rod parts. Today, it’s widely understood that Lokar makes performance parts that simply look fantastic.
