We brought you quite a bit of coverage from the 2011 Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational (OUSCI) and even featured some videos from inside competition winner Danny Popp’s Corvette and second place finisher Mark Steilow’s Camaro, but nothing compares to the video we came across on Vimeo of the event. Featuring camera angles you’d never expect, we doubt you’ve ever seen the OUSCI like this.

By placing cameras at different angles on a car, you can get video that depicts what the pros see as they maneuver around the track. The angles in this video, however, are something even the pros don’t experience, making it some of the most unique footage of an event we’ve seen to date.

With the video starting out as Vincent Allegretta skids around a corner, taking out the camera positioned on the side of the track in his supercharged LS7-powered ’69 Camaro, you know right off the bat this isn’t just another run-of-the-mill video. Adding to the excitement, a section of the video comes from a camera mounted inside the wheel on the undercarriage of a car, while another part comes from a camera angled so far down on the front of a car that it literally puts your face to the pavement as the car faces off with the sun scorched Pahrump, Nevada track.

Pair all that with a variety of camera positions on cars in the autocross portion of the competition, time-lapse footage of the Hot Lap Challenge and even aerial footage of the autocross course, and you’ve got an experience no person can have without the use of video cameras.

We hear that this video is the teaser to SpeedTV’s coverage of the event. With as much action is packed into the 2.5-minute video, if it is a teaser, the full production is going to be incredible.
