Classic muscle enthusiasts rejoice!

Sure, auctions can draw some pretty incredible cars, but it’s not everyday you come across a collection such as this one.

The slew of cars is rightfully dubbed “the BMF Muscle Car Collection.” Featuring eight completely mint examples, its expected to bring in quite some dough when the cars go up for auction in Kissimmee the beginning of January. Here’s a couple of our favorites.

The recently restored ’69 COPO Camaro caught our attention first thing – its bright green paint job makes it the epitome of “eye candy.” It was stored from 1978 to 2002 and only has 17,000 miles clocked on the odometer.

The retired racecar features the original 4-speed transmission, BE-code 12-bolt rear end, and mandatory ZL2 cowl-induction hood. Its engine, that was installed in 1971, was rebuilt.

How it came to be is quite cool. Per Mecum’s listing, General Motors had a policy back in the day that prevented them from installing engines over 400 cubic inches in size in anything but full-size cars or Corvettes. A manager had pulled some strings and got around this by using the Central Office Processing Order (COPO) program for 1969. At the time COPO was a program made specifically for fleet builds, but instances like this made it possible for Camaros to get built powered by the L72-coded 427/425 horsepower high-performance big-block engine.

It comes along with paperwork, including its Camaro Hi-Performance certification, and vintage photos.

The collection also features two super rare GTOs; A ‘69 Ram Air IV convertible thats one of 45 and a ’71 convertible, that’s one of only 21 produced.

Towards the end of the ’60s, Pontiac was looking to increase the GTOs power. They did so with the Ram Air series of engines. The IV iteration was among the most legendary – it came upgraded with 4-bolt main-bearing caps, 1.65-ratio rocker arms, large valves, rounded ports, and a high-flow aluminum intake manifold. When paired with its high compression, it provided sharp throttle response and unparalleled acceleration.

This 1971 Pontiac GTO Convertible was completely stripped to bare metal and then restored – at the highest level of quality.
