Yokohama Tire has announced a cool summer deal for the hot month of August in the form of an AVID Ascend GT rebate. From August 1st-31st, buyers can receive a $70 Yokohama Visa prepaid card after purchasing a set of four Ascend GTs.

“The Ascend GT is our latest product in the grand touring segment,” said Alan Holtschneider, Yokohama’s director of marketing. “The rebate is perfect for consumers who can get an exceptional tire with improved handling, long mileage, and superior comfort, and get $70 back.”

Available in 50 H- and V-rated sizes, the Ascend GT was engineered for sports sedans and coupes in sizes ranging from 15 inches to 20 inches. A 65,000-mile tread life warranty is applicable on all sizes.

Performance benefits of the Ascend GT include shorter wet braking distances owing to an new asymmetric tread design, outstanding snow braking thanks to 3D sipes and a notched block design, longer tread life from Yokohama’s TriBLEND compound and an ultra-square contact patch, and a much quieter ride provided by a multi-pitch tread block variation and adaptive outside shoulder blocks.
