Hot Horsepower: Our Favorite Drag Cars At The Goodguys PPG Nationals

The Goodguys PPG Nationals is the largest event on the Goodguys circuit and has earned the nickname of “the big one” with its massive turnout. There is literally every flavor of hot rod, muscle car, and custom you can think of at this colossal show. If you love bright paint schemes, chrome, and horsepower this is the kind of event you need to attend so you can absorb all the amazing machines on display.

It’s impossible to see every car that comes to the PPG Nationals, with close to 6,500 entries spread out over the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus, Ohio. As we strolled around the grounds of the Expo Center the goal was to find the eye-catching drag cars and street machines. The variety of cars we found was fantastic and each had their own style. Here is just a taste of the hardware on display at the 22nd Annual Goodguys PPG Nationals.

There were plenty of good looking Novas all over the show but this one just looks like it means business with that big blower and no hood.

It really isn't a Goodguys show without at least one Willys Gasser. This one had a great period-correct look to it that drew us in, right down to the slicks.

The crisp white paint with black stripe gives this hot rod a unique sense of style. A set of drag radials and wheelie bars lets everybody know this ride is about more than just looking good.

At first glance, you might think this is just a Fox body Mustang with a body kit, but it's actually a Ford EXP.

Plenty of gasser-style rides scattered all over the show this year. Lots of cool interpretations on this period in drag racing with the different builds. We would take any of them for sure!

If you're trying to find a car that just blends in this C4 Corvette isn't it. This car has a lot going on with its wild graphics, bold yellow highlights, and a blower motor you hear surging a mile away as the car rolls through the show.
