Here is the latest update to Project Teacher’s Pet! In this gallery of pictures you will see the students of West Bend welding and assembling the car. Since the last update the students also showed off the work they’ve done so far at the World of Wheels Custom Car Show in Milwaukee, WI.

With a week before their first showing of Teacher’s Pet at World of Wheels Milwaukee, they were in need of some major work to be done to the vehicle before it could be rolled out and brought to the show. First and foremost they needed to have the roll cage welded in place. One of their Advanced Welding students took some time to come down to the Automotive lab to MIG weld up the roll cage. He did a heck of a job installing the Topline Design and Speed Roll Cage into the Project Teacher’s Pet Camaro. It sure looks great in the car! The students then mocked up the front suspension to give them an idea of how the QA1 tubular control arms and adjustable front coilovers will make the car sit. As you can see it looks pretty mean! They also mocked up the J.W. Rod Garage 4-Link with the QA1 coilovers. The 335/30/18 tires (Yes, 335 wide!) fit like a glove in the mini tubbed wheel wells.

The weekend of February 19-21st they took the Teacher’s Pet Camaro down to the Wisconsin State Fair Ground in West Allis Wisconsin for the 54th Annual World of Wheels. The students were there Friday- Sunday. On Friday night they were able to install the sweet FAST EFI system, Machined Aluminum Edelbrock Air Cleaner, and some of the Cool-it Thermotec heat and sound deadener.

Early Saturday morning (6:30) the students ran down to the show and were able to get featured on the local news. The students actually got to install the front QA1 Double adjustable coil over suspension live on the air! It was an amazing experience for the students! The rest of the weekend they spent working on the sound/heat deadener and installing the wonderfully easy Painless wiring harness.

The students got many opportunities to talk with people about the project they are working on. For the instructor on this project it was really cool to see them so excited and proud of something they did. As you can see everyone is working very hard to reach the end of the year deadline, which is to get the car done and driving.
