Let’s face it, dyno testing can get expensive. If you are doing a simple rebuild you may not need to spring for dyno time, but you still want to make sure the engine runs well and doesn’t leak. That’s where an engine run-in stand comes in handy.
We found this engine test stand from a company called Easy-Run that’s fully adjustable stands, engineered for universal applications and made available with a variety of mounts for quick and easy set-up for most domestic and foreign engines. There is also an adapter kit that enables mounting automatic transmissions. We’re told the welded steel tube frame can safely handle 1,000-plus horsepower engines.
Easy-Run’s test stands are available preassembled with a position adjustable gauge and switch panel, cooling system, electrical system, battery tray with battery and starter cables, starter solenoid, fuel tank, and other options. For safety, the fuel system is placed safely away from the battery & exhaust, while the dash panel and optional throttle control can be operated from either side of the engine. Any maybe best of all for crowded shops, the setup disassembles and stores upright.
Finally, the test stand is made in the USA. For more information you can check out Easy-Run’s website here.
