Vote for Your Favorite Toyota Custom Creation

Kyle Busch Motorsports CamRally race carYou’ve got to love it when a vehicle manufacturer gives their stuff away to a group of motorsports and car guys and their only instructions are “Go crazy.”

That’s exactly what Toyota did with its Toyota Dream Build Challenge, where the company gave four teams a vehicle of their choice and told them to build their “dream Toyotas.”  Each team has a relationship with Toyota in some way, and each of the vehicles they produced are quite different.

Joe Gibbs Racing, Motocross took a Toyota Tundra and created a rolling pit box to support their DSE-Dreambuild-003motorcross teams. Kyle Busch Motorsports started with a Toyota Camry to create a modern rally car for the street. Oakley and professional freeskier Simon Dumont created a get-you-anywhere ski themed Toyota 4Runner. And Toyota’s own Motorsports Technical Center worked with SkullCandy using a Toyota Corolla to make something–it’s about loud music and bmx, were not exactly sure. It must be for the XTREME! generation.

Given that we are car buys at Power and Performance News, we’re obviously drawn to the rally racer created by Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM), but DSE-Dreambuild-004it definitely has the chops to win in its own right. KBM won the challenge last year and for 2013 teamed with Detroit Speed to create the CamRally inspired by the old Ivan Stewart livery. Besides a cool color scheme, the CamRally is outfitted with an adjustable racing suspension, a horsepower upgrade thanks to a Turbonetics turbocharger, hand-made fender flares and other body mods and custom wheels.

And now that we’ve told you who we like, Toyota wants you to determine the winner. You can get a good look at all four builds in the video embedded below. Participants can vote once a day each day until November 4 at the Toyota Dream Build Website.
