Are you ready for the “Big Daddy” of all car shows? It’s going to happen this November 7 and 8, 2020, at Big Daddy Don Garlits’ Museum of Drag Racing. It’s been a couple of years since the Mopars With Big Daddy car show has been held at the museum, but we’re glad to see it return.
As in year’s past, those in attendance of ‘The Garlits Show’ as it’s been called, can expect to see just about every model of Mopar on the show field. In fact, those Road Runners, Cudas, Super Bees, and Darts will be flooding the show field on Saturday for participant judging and then again on Sunday for an ‘official’ judged gathering.
If you’re looking for that hard-to-find part, you can bet the swap meet will be the place to be. In the past, many enthusiasts come from the northern parts of the country to escape the cold and bring some of their extra parts to sell in the sunny southeast.
New this year will be a pre-event gathering on Friday evening. The Friday night event starts at 6:00 p.m. and is scheduled to end at 9:00 p.m. During this evening with Big Daddy, the museum will even be open for participants of the gathering. If you get hungry, Sonny’s BBQ will be catering the nighttime get together. To attend the Friday evening festivities, however, you must be a pre-registered attendee.
Finally, if you’re a fan of AMC hot rods, we’re told this event will also be hosting the AMC/AMO southeast regional gathering. in case you needed one, there’s another reason to be there.
The Garlits show is very close to multiple hotels and restaurants, so you can easily make it a two-day, three-night weekend of all things Mopar.
