As the 2013 car show season gets underway, customers and enthusiasts alike are looking for the very best new vehicles hitting the market. But what happens when the vehicles you fall in love with at shows like the North American International Auto Show aren’t exactly the base models sold at your local dealership?
Sometimes our hot rods aren’t necessarily the most “practical” daily drivers or tow pigs so even us die hard hot rodders keep our eye on new car trends. Chances are that it’s likely we’ll also be the ones to notice a “concept” car and the version that has fallen short in the production model, as vehicles fresh off the assembly line are featured in their most highly-optioned forms to generate interest and excitement at new vehicle showcases. One of the biggest culprits of this practice is in the wheel sizes and choices you see adorning the new automobiles on display.
But have no fear, just because the manufacturer might not have the wheels you want for your new ride doesn’t mean that the crew at Wheel Pros isn’t working tirelessly to insure that you have the best wheel choices for your new vehicle purchase, according to PR Newswire.
When wanting style and comfort are your first priority, you always want to put your best foot forward and vehicle manufacturers do this by displaying the best of the best options on their vehicles at shows dedicated to new and future car lineups. Unfortunately, these options can convey an aesthetic value and perceived performance standard that regular consumers won’t be able to find in the base models of the same vehicles being sold in their local area.
One of the biggest examples of this is in the wheel choices put on the display vehicles. According to car designer Emile Bouret, wheel packages are one of the first things to go when transitioning a conceptual sketch into the real car. That’s because most sketches are done with the best aesthetics in mind and when practicality comes into play, certain things are sacrificed.

While this is somewhat disappointing, Wheel Pros was at the recent NAIAS taking in all the wheel choices on display to give you as customers the best chance at making your new ride as sleek as the top-of-the-line models on the showroom floor.
“You’re going to see a lot of optional equipment at the show: the sport package, the upgraded brakes, the wider wheels for the back of the car,” Technical Director for Wheel Pros, Keith Alinder told PR Newswire. “Sometimes you’ll see wheel and tire sizes that were never even made to sell.”
As one of the largest suppliers of aftermarket wheels, Wheel Pros makes it a priority to get a feel for what future model years may bring to the market and work accordingly to give customers a variety of choices when it comes to different wheel sizes and finishes for their vehicle’s ultimate look.

While manufacturers can only offer a certain number of wheel options, aftermarket companies like Wheel Pros can offer nearly endless options from a variety of top-of-the-line aftermarket wheel companies like American Racing, Moto Metal and Carol Shelby designs.
The model years fast approaching promise to offer the automotive market even more vehicle options by way of style, performance, power and technology. And although we all love our hot rods and musclecars, sometimes it’s fun to spruce up the “daily” so isn’t adorning your new car with mean looking wheels the least you can do?
