Check out this 1966 Dodge D 300 dually pickup truck, brought to us by the folks over at Hooniverse. The truck is currently on display at the St. Louis Car Museum, and it is being offered for sale by the Museum. This ultra-rare Dodge is originally from Wyoming state, and was used as a light-duty hauler on a ranch until 1994, when it was purchased by the second owner and placed into his private collection of classic cars.
This massive Dodge dually has undergone a very mild restoration, due to the fact it only has 15,000 original miles on the clock, it needed only paint and a mild cosmetic restoration.
Most of these D 300 Dodges that left the factory, had stake beds installed. This one actually left the factory with a pickup bed on it. As you can see by the pictures, the truck is in very immaculate shape.
It is powered by the original 318 Polly spherical head engine, and four-speed transmission. The only components that are not original to the truck are the wheels, running boards, and rear bumper. It’s even equipped with an old era correct trailer brake actuator.
It’s definitely no match for a brand-new Dodge Ram Cummings diesel powered pickup, but it is definitely in a class of its own. It’s being offered for sale by the Museum, with an asking price of $32,900, which may be a bit steep for a truck this old. Then you would have to ask yourself, could I build this truck for that much money? In any case, this is a chance to own one of the rarest Dodge pickups ever built.
