If you were blown away by the last project car that Kelly and Son, The Crazy Painters, in Bellflower, CA, offered up for your ocular stimulation, then cast your gaze of appreciation on this next project the father and son team have in progress. After achieving incredible success with the Bad to the Blue ’57 Bel Air, the creative team has been encouraged by many, and now has under way, another gorgeous project car to represent Kelly and Son at car shows.
This time it is a complete custom renovation of a 1957 Chevy Bel Air Convertible, and they have gone with a stunning green color that simply glows. PPG calls it Money Green and the car has PPG Silver highlights and striping. Currently the build on this beauty also includes a painted Art Morrison chassis, Wilwood six and four piston ultralight polished brake kit, chromed and painted 502 ci V-8 Ram Jet engine from GM Performance, a Mattson’s radiator, and many other components from Eddie Motorsports.
Toyo Tires and American Racing Wheels are also along for the ride, although we were told that these photos do not currently depict the wheels that will be seen on the finished product. Kicker stereo and Mother’s Polish have jumped on board, as well.
The upcoming ’57 Bel Air Convertible will premier at the November 2013 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Other shows on the car’s schedule so far include the November 2013 Goodguys Show, Del Mar, CA; December 2013 Mooneyes Show, Irwindale, CA; January 2014 Grand National Roadster Show, Pomona, CA; March 2014 Goodguys Del Mar Nationals, Del Mar, CA; June 2014 Goodguys All American, Pleasanton, CA; August 2014 Motorama Car Show, Long Beach, CA; September 2014 Belmont Car Show, Long Beach, CA; and the September 2014 Crusin’ for a Cure, Costa Mesa, CA.
Keep your eyes on Rod Authority for future updates, as we will follow the build on this sweet ride!
