They are machined from 6063-T6 prime billet aluminum, anodized, and polished to a mirror finish.  

The concept for the JETIPS was inspired by the futuristic taillights of the 63 Chrysler Turbine car. Further inspiration came from the flashy tail lights and hubcaps of the classic 50-60’s Chevy, Chrysler and Ford muscle cars and the jet engines of passenger and fighter planes.
