Billetproof jokingly prides itself on hosting some of the “world’s least important car shows,” but we’d like to think that an upcoming show in Ocala, Florida is going to be one of the least un-memorable–yeah, that makes sense. Hosted at the Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing, “the bitchin’ location that started it all,” the event should be a rocking good time, if the planned activities are any indication.
The 2013 show featured some amazing hot rods, rat rods, and more. The 2014 show is sure to be a bang of a followup.
Billed to run March 22nd, visitors and vendors alike are encouraged to fill out a pre-registration form, (found below the event webpage’s description) as it looks like space will be an issue: “Once the fields fill up, that’s it!”
Pre-registration, at the very least, will guarantee you and your ride a slot in the show area. As an added incentive, folks who fill out the form before February 21st receive a five dollar discount on registration, so get your affairs in order and take advantage of this offer.
Two clubs, the Savagerz and the Swamp Kings, will be the guests of honor at this year’s show. With the Savagerz filling in as the host club while the Swamp Kings kick back and “watch the new guys have fun”–we assume that means that the Savagerz along with other individuals will be given the spotlight to show off their stuff, whether it be through burnouts, rev battles, or just drawing in admirers and chewing the fat over their hot rods.
What better way for family and friends to spend a Saturday than alongside droves of other builders, customizers, and all around car lovers? On top of that, Billetproof has a couple more things planned for the event. Among them are the following: a pinstripe panel jam, pin-up contest, some live bands playing throughout the day, trophies, a swap meet with friendly vendors, and the “largest model car show in the state”–Sounds like a blast to us!

Editor’s Note: We would like to extend our condolences to the “father of drag racing” Don Garlits, whose wife, Pat, passed away on February 2nd. Don had this to say on Billetproof’s Facebook page–“My dear wife of nearly 61 years left this world and went over to the other side at 5:53 p.m., this afternoon. She has been suffering a lot these last few days and it was a Blessing to see God take her into His care. I will miss her very badly, but will be with her sooner than I realize, as time is very different here than over there.”
