Pace Performance is all about setting gearheads up with quality gear and products to make their rigs a success. One small but noteworthy part of that can be seen here: a spec-built 383 Stroker, packing a lot more heat than you might expect.
As you may know, a 383 is a 350 SBC V8 that has been modified to give it a greater cubic inch displacement. This is done by modifying the engine enough to accept a crankshaft, connecting rods, and pistons from a 400, as well as boring it .030 over, the effect of which increases the displacement and makes it possible to extract more power from the typical 350.
Adding to the popularity of the 383 is the relative ubiquity of the 350 SBC. First found in in the 1967 Camaro as the L-48, the 350 SBC went on through multiple iterations in the GM lineup, ranging from the C3 Corvette to 1990s Caprice (and even a few Hummers).
After having been crafted, dissected, and reassembled for over thirty years, the automotive community has found what makes the 383 a tried and true success for just about any driving application out there. BluePrint GM went ahead and applied such knowledge as well as a few tricks of their own to bring you their own kick-ass 383, now being offered through Pace Performance.
Chrome-finished, cast-iron, and boasting a 10:1 compression ratio, this engine can produce a stinging 430 horsepower and 450 lb.-ft. of torque, all on 91 octane gas. BluePrint GM goes to great lengths to provide this kind of awesome performance, hand-picking the best of the four-bolt mains that they can find, and then building them to exacting specifications.
