Edelbrock has been bringing you the goods since 1938, and they’re not showing any signs of slowing down. Adding to its already massive inventory of accessories and engine dress-up, the company is now proud to announce a new valve cover for Chevy straight six engines.
The new Signature Series valve cover (part no. 4477) is designed to fit 1962-88 American and 1962-2001 South American inline-six motors, ranging from 194 to 292 cubic inches. Though largely ordinary in comparison with other six-cylinder engines of the day, these third-generation motors differed from previous design in that they could share several components with the SBC and BBC V-8s, including manual transmission bellhousings, automatics, and starter motors. Notable vehicles that used this line of engine included the 1962-67 Chevy II, ’67 Pontiac Firebird, and 1964-67 Chevelle.
These covers should prove a big hit with restorers looking to keep the stock appearance of their classic ride, while also receiving the benefit of better materials and craftsmanship. They use two stock-styled baffled breather holes and a baffled PCV hole on the side.
The cover is also compatible with all emissions equipment, should you decide to have your vehicle made street legal. Keep in mind, however, that since the part has an overall height of 3.5 inches, it will not fit on cylinder heads with an integrated intake manifold.

Just like the rest of Edelbrock’s Signature Series accessories, it features a triple chrome-plated finish. An embossed Edelbrock logo puts the finishing touches on the cover.
