If you’re an avid stamp collector as well as a hot rod enthusiast, then this coming June will bring some joy to your heart. On June 6th 10:30 a.m. EDT Postmaster General, Pennsylvania native, and fellow car enthusiast, Patrick Donahoe, will be leading the First-Day-of-Issue ceremony for a limited edition run of Hot Rods Forever stamps. The ceremony will be held at the NSRA Street Rod Nationals East Plus event.

According to a release from the USPS the stamps were, “Designed by Derry Noyes of Washington, DC. The two stamps were digitally created by artist John Mattos of San Francisco. Each stamp features an iconic 1932 Ford Deuce roadster and honor America’s pastime of customizing cars, which became very popular in the 1950s when hot rodding reached its peak.”

The release continues, “The ceremony kicks off with a 1950s-themed sock hop performance to help pay tribute to an era when hot rodding took car enthusiasts by storm.”

Alongside Donahoe, Barry Meguiar, host of “Car Crazy” and Jerry Kennedy, NSRA Special Events Director, will help lead the ceremony. This event will take place at the USPS tent which will be located in the outdoor Manufacturers exhibit of the Nationals event.
