One of the worst things that can happen after a great car meet is of course, the end. The 401K Club Hot Rod Shop picked up on this and decided that it would facilitate a continuation of the festivities that early bird’s get to enjoy during the local Donut Derelicts and Cars & Coffee events that dot the Orange County region.
401K Club hosts an open garage event once a month throughout the year and strategically have it follow the usual 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. end times of early morning coffee meets. During the 9:00 to 1:00 p.m. cruise-in at 401K’s facility, attendees can, “Enjoy a BBQ lunch, cool cars, and see the incredible projects in our shop.”
If you’ve never gotten to see the brand of work that these talented folks put out just take a look at two of our past car features on vehicles that were built by these fine folks: The late Dave Martino’s 1950 Mercury and Fred DeFalco’s gorgeous ’57 “Midnight Nomad.” If these two masterpieces don’t convince area-locals to get down to 401K to check out what they’ve got in the works, the cranium is probably due for a tuneup.
It’s another set of monthly events to log on your calendar and look forward to–just when you were getting ready to put on your sad face because summer shows are coming to a close. While the September event happened this weekend, there are still three more open garages scheduled for the year:
- October 18th
- November 15th
- December 13th (Charity toy drive)
For more information on the 401K open garage visit their website, round up your fellow gearheads, and enjoy a casual run from your nearest cars and coffee then over to 401K for a laid back lunchtime social. Also, be sure to give them a Like on Facebook to get day-to-day updates straight to your social feed.
