Hot rodding is as diverse as the country we live in–in it, there exists niches devoutly tied to build style and application. From modernized street rods to traditional hot rods, and heavily customized builds to purist restorations–the variations are seemingly endless and equally inspiring in their own right.
Wheel Vintiques, a wheel and wheel accessory manufacturer that was recently acquired by the Coker Group showcased its line of fine American-made products at this year’s SEMA show. They, smartly, utilized their booth display to broadcast their company’s mission statement–catering to the full spectrum of build and aesthetic tastes.
Hector Moreno of Wheel Vintiques took some time to break down the companies identity for us, “We are Wheel Vintiques and we specialize in steel wheels. When a lot of people think of our name, they think of OEM, plain-stock wheels. Because of that, the theme of our booth this year is to showcase the fact that we cater to the old-school custom hot rodder as well as the high-end show quality cars–we are very passionate about both.”
The company offers a stout line of wheels that are staples in the hot rodding and custom world–from artillery, smoothie, gennie, astro supremes, and wire wheels–they combine the tradition of their wheel line with modern expectations by offering different backspacing and wheel diameter options for each style.
Moreno brought us over to the two booth vehicles that were on display and gave us some background on each, “On the left we have a ’36 Ford pickup. It has the patina look as we like to call it. It’s running a 350ci SBC, has the Wheel Vintiques steel wheels, and Coker white-wall tires. On the back we added an old hill climber. Right next to it we have Wade Kawasaki’s yellow ’32 Ford with black artillery steel wheels that really finish off the car’s look.”
Be on the look out for a new and improved user experience as Moreno confirmed that Wheel Vintiques will be re-launching their website to be more informative, user friendly, and aesthetically pleasing. They’ve also released a comprehensive product catalog. Head over to www.WheelVintiques.com and see if they’ve got the right line of products to compliment your next or current project.
