Summit Racing now sells OEM Automotive Tools’ Personal Power Source (PPS), able to start just about any engine. Better yet, it even charges laptops, cell phones, or anything with a USB port. Details can be found below.
Official Release:
It’s a common nightmare: put the key in the ignition, twist, and nothing happens. OEM Automotive Tools just introduced a gadget that will put that fear to rest. You can connect the Personal Power Source (PPS) to a vehicle’s battery and get enough juice (400A peak) to turn over even the coldest engine! The whole thing is just a tad bigger than a deck of playing cards, so you can stuff one under your seat or in a glovebox as an emergency battery backup.
The Personal Power Supply doesn’t just provide cranking power; it can be used to charge smartphones, laptops, GPS units, and practically any other portable electronic device. It has a built-in USB charging port and includes a cigarette-style car charger, a standard 110 Vac outlet adapter, USB Y-cable, and a pair of alligator clips made for clamping onto vehicle battery terminals.
The PPS is housed in a durable, rubberized shock cover. The internal high-capacity battery charges quickly, and will hold a charge for up to six months. The unit is virtually impervious to the cold, delivering reliable cranking power well into negative temperatures.
