Taking place just recently, the National Street Rod Association hosted their 32nd annual Southwest Street Rod Nationals in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. With more than 1,500 cars on display, we chose to highlight a unique build that stood out in our eyes; a two-tone 1939 Chevrolet sedan delivery.
Competing against several different street rods, this Chevy sedan delivery is tastefully customized. Owned by Tom and Dianna Fields of Amarillo, Texas, their Chevy Sedan Delivery is built off a Ford Mustang II chassis.
Under the hood is a 350 cubic inch small-block Chevrolet V8 engine. Power meets the pavement with a Turbo Hydramatic 700R4 automatic transmission and stopping power is provided by a four wheel disc brake setup.
Uniquely, the Fields couple chose Billet Specialties 17-inch wheels in the front and huge 20-inch wheels for the rear, all tucked under the curvaceous fenders. The Chevy sedan is subtle but classy in design, settling for a clean setup.
Moreover, the two-tone tangerine and raspberry paint is beautifully divided at the Chevy sedan’s defined body lines that meet near where the shaved door handles are.
Shaved, hidden hinges, and the Fields and Company decal on the Chevy sedan only add to the vintage look the Fields couple aimed for.
“It’s a great driver and we enjoy it,” Fields said.
