As we enjoyed the festivities and liveliness of the Goodguys 22nd Summer Get-Together in Pleasanton, California, we couldn’t stop our eyes from darting towards so many nice cars and trucks. In particular, Clayton Carrell of Pleasanton, California, and his 1933 Ford truck stood out from the rest.
With the truck’s huge decal, this hot rod pays tribute to those that were lost, but never forgotten. Custom fabricated to honor the lost and fallen comrades of war, Carrell’s Ford decides to keep it all black and all business. Up front rests a 350ci Chevy V8, mated to a Turbo 350 automatic transmission.
The matte black paint and painted headers and engine components give it the feel of the Dark Knight. The wooden panels in the truck bed add a nice touch of vintage kustom styling, which carries into the inside of the Ford truck.
Moving inside, the cup holders and back frame of the cabin continue with custom wooden trim. The diamond jewel shifter and classy telemetry that is centered on the dash keep your eyes moving inside. Even the wrench door handles inside added a nice kustom touch to the already beautiful truck.
The black on black truck Carrell has created made its way to the winner’s circle at the show, earning him the Speedway Traditional Homebuilt Heaven award and a place with all the other unique rods and customs that won critical acclaim with the judges.
This hot rod definitely went down at the show as the truck that was never lost nor forgotten. We like what Carrell has done with this Ford truck, as we hope to see it at another show.
