Allen Millyard is one visionary who makes his dreams a reality. Posted on YouTube, take a glimpse at “The Flying Millyard”, an all-custom motorcycle with a beastly engine churning right in front.
Millyard is a British engineer who has completed his fair share of building motorcycles with unique engines. He is known for his motorcycle, which he transplanted an 8.0 liter Viper V10 engine into.
Recently, Millyard has built a custom 5.0 liter, 305 cubic-inch V-twin engine from two Pratt & Whitney R1340 aircraft cylinders. A majority of the components, including the crankshaft, aluminum cast crankcase, and con rods were handmade by Millyard.
To note, the engine has 5.75-inch bore and 5.75-inch stroke. The hefty engine on the motorcycle is running on twin SU carburetors, twin spark plugs per cylinder, and a dry sump oil system with dual pumps and a one gallon tank.
A four-speed hand shift gearbox and the bike’s eight foot wheelbase is plenty of length to keep it all under control. We can’t argue the pristine level of craftsmanship that went into this custom motorcycle.
The build truly has a classic feel to it, but the V8 mill that runs in front of the rider is outright insane. It almost looks like a pepped up vintage bicycle. With so much going on, and so much to be in awe over, The Flying Millyard is a remarkable masterpiece.
From the motor’s first test run all alone to cruising in it complete, The Flying Millyard is a high-quality build that both Allen Millyard and custom enthusiasts can be proud of. What do you think of Allen’s creation?
