Being a digital magazine, we already know how valuable social media sites can be. Twitter is a unique beast in the social media world with 140 character limit to get your message across. Not only is this social media channel a challenge with space limitations, but your twitter account is only as good as the accounts that you follow.
If you have a Twitter account but are not following anyone … you are missing the point. Likewise if you are only following your co-workers. This will probably make your Twitter feed rather dull and boring. Not that your co-workers are boring but you probably already know their news and there isn’t any interesting reading when you long on.
The key to making Twitter exciting and interesting is to follow accounts that are interesting and exciting. If you don’t have any ideas on what accounts that might be, we are here to help. This is our first installment of a weekly run down of three Twitter accounts that you should follow if you are into hot rods.
We are only going to list the accounts that have a proven record of following back. That’s a big part of Twitter etiquette, if someone follows you, it is courtesy to follow them back. There’s no need to be afraid to follow these accounts, or even like and retweet their posts. You’ll eventually find out that Twitter is a lot more fun and sometimes, you can get a lot more done in this social media channel.
Car Furniture
One account that has provided us with a lot of enjoyment and several retweets and posts of our own is @Car_Furniture. Self described as an account for “Modern and classic automobile inspired furniture, art, lighting, and accessories for your home, game-room, man-cave, and business.” Car Furniture tweets infrequently, but the existing tweets are interesting and very worth viewing.

@JoCoddington is a friend to Rod Authority and we cherish her willingness to share her personality on Twitter. No matter what anyone thinks, Jo is a real car fanatic.
Jo Coddington
Wife of the late Boyd Coddington, this tough-as-nails lady lives in a male dominated business and holds her own. A lot of guys can’t hold a candle to this firecracker so an occasional insult gets fired over the bow. This usually says more about the person firing the insult that it does about @JoCoddington. She handles all of this with ease and continues her work to keep her husband’s legacy alive. We love Jo and are grateful that she follows our work on Twitter.
If you can’t handle a ballsy chicks that know a lot about cars and business, don’t follow her on Twitter. If you want to follow someone that is traveling around the country, speaking at different Hot Rod Halls of Fame and other engagements, then the spontaneity of Jo Coddington will keep you entertained.

@RockabillyTCB covers almost every aspect of the hot rod life. From beautiful women to rockabilly hairstyles. If you want a mix of the 1950’s with modern technology, this is a great twitter account to follow.

Rockabilly Clothing
@RockabillyTCB bio says it all: Rockabilly Clothing connects people with friends and others who enjoy the rockabilly, psychobilly, pinup, kustom kulture & 1950s lifestyle.
Culture is one of the biggest parts of hot rodding, with clothing playing a large role. It makes a lot of sense that a clothing line would be popular on Twitter for hot rod fans.
The Twitter account is a great blend of style, beautiful and interesting ladies (with and without tats), hairstyles, and other cultural icons.
