Watson’s StreetWorks’ 4th Annual Open House Review

Company owner Harvey Richardson welcomes the public to the event. Specialty cars from the region showed up to take part of the show and shine.

Watson’s StreetWorks, the company that has been providing killer products for the do-it-yourself custom car builders for years, opened their doors to the public and invited everyone to become a part of the family for a show and shine event.

The folks at Watson’s have always supported the custom builders by providing special products that help make projects unique to the builder. “Make it your own” is an often heard term around the Watson StreetWorks’ facility, and what better way to show off those unique builds than a gathering at the shop?

Antique and classic cars that could be shown in any event in the country showed up for the festivities.

The open house was scheduled for Saturday, May 21, from 9:00 in the morning to early afternoon. All week long the weather had been threatening to change from the bright, sunny, and warm New England spring to a fairly common New Hampshire springtime rainstorm. As if it were ordained by the local clergy, the weather remained fantastic through the weekend which allowed 85 of the area’s best custom vehicles to come out.

The range of the vehicles that were able to make it to the event was as diverse as the number of products in Watson’s inventory. Everything from complete high end Hot Rods to projects that were just starting. Many of the cars were serious classics and antiques that would be comfortable at any concours’ car show throughout the country.

Helping to support the event was the NSRA safety team that conducted complimentary inspections for everyone that requested. The NSRA volunteer safety program is one of the best things going in the street rod world during show season. It’s no surprise that Watson’s StreetWorks requested the NSRA safety inspection team for the event. The Watson’s team puts a lot of emphasis on safety and safety products as evidenced by the back-to-back NSRA safety product of the year awards in the past two years.

The open house was great event that the mailman decided to take his USPS contracted break at the event. Joining the crowd, the postal worker lifted the hood on his 23-year-old delivery vehicle to allow the ambient air to provide some cooling to the engine as he enjoyed the free hot dogs and soda.

Not wanting to miss a good thing, the mailman decided to take his authorized break at the open house.
