A Mopar without torsion bars? As unorthodox as that might sound, your Dodge or Plymouth muscle car will need a rethink to bring it up to modern suspension standards. Not to worry as Speedtech Performance has expanded its suspension lineup to include Mopar’s ever-popular B-body, aka Chrysler’s 1968-1970 intermediate cars.
The company’s newly revealed chassis and suspension products for Mopar B-body are now available. The ExtReme product line is expanding to B-body for model years 1968 to 1970 and is priced comparably with our ExtReme product line. This awesome new gear is available for order March 1st.
The ExtReme Front Subframe delivers comfort and control through a complete change of the front suspension. The system eliminates the original torsion bars and replaces them with tubular upper and lower control arms and coil-over shocks. The EFSF provides nearly zero bump steer, fully adjustable alignment angles, and a sealed maintenance-free wheel bearing.
The EFSF features Speedtech Performance’s industry-exclusive forged spindle from 7075 Aircraft aluminum and a dual ram power rack and pinion. No body modifications are necessary to fit a 325/30/19 tire upfront while still retaining a 30-degree steering angle. The EFSF is a removable bolt-in component of the chassis, simplifying the engine and transmission installation. The Speedtech Performance Mopar B-body EFSF offers thoughtfully engineered comfort and performance otherwise unavailable in the market.
For the first time, the rear of Mopar B-body can now receive Speedtech Performance’s proven Torque Arm Rear Suspension, (TARS). Many benefits of the TARS include eliminating suspension bind, maintaining a constant pinion angle, transferring load forces from acceleration and braking to the center of the car, and successfully managing movement of the body on the pitch axis. The Articulinks and Delrin torque arm bushings optimize performance from the axle housing, enhancing comfort and performance. Fitting a 335/30/20 in the rear will require mini-tubs, with no exterior body modifications.
B-body’s using Speedtech Performance’s ExtReme products are the ultimate expression of a classic muscle car for daily driving, classic styling with modern driving comfort, and performance. Owners can expect a greater level of comfort for long-distance drives and accurate feedback through the chassis and steering wheel.
