No matter how hard automotive companies try to kill off certain models, the iconic muscle cars of the past seem to always come back. That is the case with the Dodge Charger Super Bee that will be making its way back onto the market for 2012 along with its sister, the Challenger Yellow Jacket. In preparation for 2012, Dodge recently released the expected prices for these models as we found out from Allpar.com, and we must say, there weren’t really any surprises.
The new Charger Super Bee is set to hit the market with a price tag of $41,495, putting the car between the $35,995 Charger R/T Max and the top of the line $46,795 Charger SRT8, like we expected. As the median price point between the two Charger models, it is apparent that Dodge was listening when muscle car enthusiasts called for maximum performance without all the frills. As you may remember, the Charger Super Bee is set to have a 6.4L HEMI V8 under the hood capable of 470hp and 470 pound feet of torque but feature fewer interior bells and whistles than the traditional SRT8.
As far as the Yellow Jacket goes, the new Challenger is set to hit the market with a slightly higher price tag than the regular SRT8 model. The $45,490 price reflects the use of custom wheels, leather interior components with special yellow stitching and many of the same amenities seen in the regular Challenger SRT8. While it doesn’t sound like much, these upgrades will cost you about $500 more than the other SRT8 version.
We’re very excited to see the new Charger Super Bee and Challenger Yellow Jacket when they hit the market. Although we’re not quite sure how especially the Yellow Jacket will be received, we have a feeling there will be plenty of old-school muscle car enthusiasts ready to dish out the extra funds to get their hands on these classic Mopar remakes.
