The mid-engine Corvette the world has been waiting for since the 60s has become the darling of daredevils and those best described as “non-waxers.” We’ve seen C8 Corvettes driven through deep waters, severed in two pieces, and had their body panels torn off in a fit of impatience. Now, we can add a C8 that has been jumped to our list of things Corvette owners do that make us shake our heads in disbelief.
We’ve got to wonder why this particular C8 only has 2,300 miles on the clock. We’d put that many miles on it during the first weekend of ownership! Unfortunately, this Corvette seems to be more focused on height than length.
A Pennsylvania man has recently listed his 2021 Corvette C8 on Facebook Marketplace for the princely sum of $79,995. While the sub-eighty-grand price tag may have some clamoring for a second look, what really catches one’s eye is the photo of the car with its tires straining tenuously to try and keep contact with terra firma.
GM engineers explained to us many years ago that all of the active handling, traction control, and other life-extending gizmos they’ve designed into the Corvette will never be able to compete with the laws of physics. These photos are proof that if you want to go there, nothing is stopping you.

So, according to the ad, the car experienced no ill effects from its high-altitude adventures. I mean, this C8 has only been jumped “a handful of times.” Sure, you might find a few rattles or squeaks after a while, but any car can develop those, right? Besides, as stated in the ad, you can expect your new-to-you C8 to be detailed so you won’t have to worry about tracking all those weeds and hay stubble into your garage. We’re sure that LT2 will clean up nicely as well.
What's a little dirt on the chin, under the hood, and inside the interior, right? The ad states the car will be detailed before the purchase, but does that mean all is forgiven?
We may not be the first in line to throw down some green for the chance to own this particular car, but for those looking to own a C8 Corvette with “provenance,” this may be your chance! We WOULD strongly suggest you spring for the four-wheel alignment as well as the deep cleaning. It might not hurt to get the lifetime alignment package as well!
