The Roadster Shop, a hugely famous company that specializes in custom chassis and vehicles, has announced a merger with the Aeromotive Group, a conglomerate of high-performance brands. The new company will operate under the Roadster Shop name and will leverage the Aeromotive Group’s resources and expertise to expand its offerings and reach.
The merger is not a typical consolidation of similar businesses, but rather a strategic alliance of complementary brands that share a vision of excellence and innovation. The Aeromotive Group is led by Laurent Potdevin, a former CEO of Lululemon and Burton Snowboards, who has a track record of building global iconic brands.
A New Road
There is much synergy between the two companies Potdevin said, “Roadster Shop is a gem in the automotive industry uniquely positioned to become an aspirational, iconic, and global phenomenon. As a result of this alliance, the company can leverage the Aeromotive Group’s portfolio of brands, its operational foundation, and access to new levels of capital for expansion.”
The Roadster Shop was founded in 2004 by the Gerber family, who have been producing award-winning chassis and vehicles for almost two decades. The Gerbers will continue to be involved in the new Roadster Shop, overseeing its growth and development domestically and internationally.
Phil Gerber, said, “I look forward to writing the next chapter of our history with our partners at the Aeromotive Group. It’s thrilling to have deeper resources to build the ultimate custom vehicles and imagine new categories, parts, and services. And we’ll have greater capabilities to market Roadster Shop as the ultimate automotive lifestyle brand globally.”
Jeremy Gerber elaborates more, “Our partnership with the Aeromotive Group gives us the opportunity to fuel accelerated growth and supercharge our expansion. Over the past 20 years, we’ve become a household name in high-performance hot rods, muscle cars, and trucks. Phil and I are very excited about the future.”

The new company will showcase its new identity, products, and brands at the 2023 SEMA Show. The brands under the Aeromotive Group include Aeromotive Fuel Systems, Waterman Racing Components, JBA Performance Exhaust, Doug’s Headers, Patriot Exhaust, Taylor Cable, PerTronix Ignition Products, Compu-Fire, and Spyke.
Potdevin summed it up by saying, “Jeremy and Phil have been an incredible source of innovation and disruption for the industry. I can’t wait to see what our collaboration brings to car enthusiasts around the world.”
