If you were Cadillac and your product portfolio had dwindled to just three models and you were sitting around twiddling your thumbs waiting for two desperately needed new models to debut, what would you do in the meantime to generate some showroom traffic?  Why not offer a “Touring Package” that turns a workaday CTS into a poor man’s V-Series? Perfect! Autoblog, gives us all the details.

The Touring Package is available on three CTS models in two flavors:

The 3.0L V-6 Touring Package starts at $2,065 and includes 18-inch pearl nickel finish wheels, dual exhaust, dark finish grille, HID headlamps and fog lamps. As well as Suede seat inserts, steering wheel and shifter, Sapele wood trim and metal pedals. This package won’t be available on the coupe.

The 3.6L V-6 Touring Package starts at $2,810 and features Recaro performance seating, suede steering wheel and shifter, Sapele wood trim and metal pedals. As well as a dark finish grille, and 19-inch polished wheels with either summer tire performance package or all season tire package.

This is a great idea and the 3.6 version would be an especially nice driver but we here at StreetMuscleMag have our sights set on an exactly opposite kind of  “package.” Why not offer a stripper version of the CTS wagon with all the fluffy bits left out and stuffed with the 556 hp LS9?  Hell, we’d be fine with a naturally aspirated LS motor too. Offer it in any color you want as long as it’s black and REALLY make us want to write a check.  Pretty please?
