Sharing the Stage with Legends

The exhibit, running through October 2025, didn’t pull any punches with the cars it gathered. The museum parked the Zora 1957 Corvette next to some of the heaviest hitters in Corvette history, drawing from General Motors (GM)’s own Heritage Collection and the renowned Revs Collection. You can see it alongside one of the five original 1963 Grand Sports and GM’s own wild concept cars like the Mako Shark and Manta Ray. It’s a room full of legends, and this ’57, wearing its Sarasota Café Racers livery, fits right in.

A Closer Look at the 1957 Corvette

TEAM ZORA USA built this car exactly how Zora Arkus-Duntov would have wanted it for the track. It has the legendary 283-horsepower fuelie V8, and a tough, close-ratio Borg-Warner four-speed backs it up. The car is all business, with the heavy-duty factory racing suspension (RPO-684), a Positraction rearend, and an interior with a radio delete plate because who needs tunes when you have the sound of a Duntov cam?

From Museum Floor to the Mille Miglia

But the Spirit of Zora won’t be sitting on polished floors forever. The owners, a group called TEAM ZORA USA, are serious about racing it. They’ve handed the keys to RM Motorsports in Wixom, Michigan, to get the car fully sorted and prepared for the brutal 1,000-mile Mille Miglia rally across Italy in 2026. The team is building this car to be used as intended.
