This Grand National isn’t just a low-mileage car; it’s a piece of history frozen in time. Hewitt Motors of Richwood, West Virginia, originally sold the vehicle new, and shortly after, its original owner placed it into storage. The car remained there for over 30 years until the current owner purchased it in 2021, finally bringing it back into the light. The car represents one of the ’80s most formidable muscle cars just as it was when it left the factory. It was consigned to Bring A Trailer by Motorcar Market in Ramsey, New Jersey, which specializes in unusual and high-end collector cars.

Every detail of the car shows its incredible state of preservation. It wears its original coat of black paint over the iconic 15-inch chrome wheels, which are still wrapped in Goodyear tires. Inside, the cabin is a perfect snapshot of 1987, with black and sand gray cloth seats featuring the signature Turbo 6 embroidery on the headrests. The Delco cassette stereo with its graphic equalizer sits in the dash, and the five-digit odometer shows just 77 miles.

The Power Behind the Car

The consigning dealer recently serviced the turbocharged 3.8-liter V6, which was factory-rated at a potent 245 net horsepower and 355 lb-ft of torque, by installing a new fuel pump and filter to ensure it’s ready for its next chapter. Motorcar Market also installed a new headliner, a common and necessary repair for cars of this vintage regardless of mileage.

This 1987 Buick Grand National sold with all the documentation a serious collector could want, including its original window sticker — showing a total price of $17,174 — a clean Carfax report, and a clean title.
