The Plymouth brand built a reputation for its incredible diversity, from bare-knuckle drag cars to wild, stylish new family cars. The Larry’s Legacy auction, September 19–21, 2025, will feature a remarkable collection of that history. The event will feature a curated group of several unique Plymouths, each telling a distinct story of performance, rarity, and historical significance.
The Hot Wheels ’57 Fury Pro Street
Leading the charge is a wild 1957 Plymouth Fury Pro Street build. This machine is all business, powered by a massive, supercharged 488 ci Keith Black V8 with an 8-71 BDS blower and Hilborn fuel injection. A pushbutton TorqueFlite automatic with a Gear Vendors overdrive sends the power to the wheels. With its tubbed rearend and Wineberry and Gold paint, this car has a unique claim to fame: Mattel reportedly modeled it for a Hot Wheels 40th Anniversary Edition car.
The ’69 Fury Police Wagon
Fans of unique tribute vehicles can bid on a 1969 Plymouth Fury Suburban Wagon. The longroof wears the full livery of a Chicago Police Canine Patrol unit. It features a roof-mounted siren and beacon, a driver’s side spotlight, and a period-correct Motorola CB radio. Under the hood is a V8 with an Edelbrock intake and a four-barrel carburetor, ready for patrol duty.
The First Manual Max Wedge Savoy
A truly historic piece of Mopar drag racing history will also be available. This 1962 Plymouth Savoy is documented as the very first Super Stock 413 Max Wedge car ever built with a manual transmission. With only 5,698 miles on the odometer, the award-winning car comes with extensive provenance, including its original IBM punch card and build sheet. The 413 V8 features a 13.5:1 compression ratio and is backed by a stout Borg-Warner T-85 three-speed manual.
The ’71 Duster Model Kit Car
Another car with a unique connection to pop culture is a 1971 Plymouth Duster. The AMT ERTL company selected this rotisserie-restored, FE5 Red example—powered by a 340 V8 and a four-speed manual—to be the template for their official 1971 Duster model kit because of its perfect condition. The car has earned an AACA Grand National award and has appeared in magazines.
The ’69 Barracuda “Mod Top”
Rounding out the group is a rare and funky 1969 Plymouth Barracuda Mod Top. As one of only 937 produced, this car features a unique floral-patterned vinyl roof with matching floral inserts in the bucket seats—a true symbol of late-60s style. This 318-powered Barracuda is a show-stopper and represents one of Plymouth’s most unusual and memorable option packages.
