This week’s episode of The MuscleCar Place Podcast is out and features a recap of the 2010 Forge Muscle Car Invitational!

Tim Lopata is a man on a mission – a mission to put together an annual show where the rarest of the rare muscle cars are featured.  He started the Forge Muscle Car Invitational Show 8 years ago for just that purpose, and it was held (originally) in Pigeon Forge, TN. The 2010 show occurred over the first weekend in October and was dedicated to Ford Talladega’s and Mercury Cyclones. The Talladega’s were Ford’s attempt at competing in the NASCAR “Aero Wars” and (among other things) was a slicked nose version of the Torino. Tim invited people all over the country to bring their rare and valuable cars to come together in one place for a public viewing and the owners responded in spades!

The Banjo Matthews prototype car was present, as was a trailer full of Banjo Matthews NOS and prototype Talladega parts.  A few original stock cars were present as well, but most impressive was the fact that the prototype car, first production car, and last production car were all together in the same room. There was a also  Bill France “signature” car present and you’ll have to hear Tim tell the story of how that car came to be.

Tim also had plenty of other rare muscle in attendance, and personally verifies that each and every car in attendance is “legit.” He’s passionate about sharing the cars with people and loves to put on a quality show!

This show is actually Episode #57, but the first to be placed here at StreetMuscleMag.com!  If you like what you hear, feel free to browse the archives on MuscleCar Place’s website or directly in iTunes using the links at the top of the page. Expect to see more of host Robert Kibbe and the MuscleCar Place’s podcasts here at Street Legal TV.
