High performance coating company Jet-Hot and the automotive gurus at Detroit Speed, Inc have teamed up to provide some valuable instruction to drivers at their new “Get Started Racing” racing school. The 3 day event, which takes place in the balmy month of October, all begins at the Jet-Hot facility located in Burlington, NC.

A quick tech inspection is performed and then everyone gets lunch, followed by some track time. An initial skidpad and autocross track run lets the instructors know your skill level.  After running this first gamut, the drivers are then teamed up with instructors and given one-on-one lessons. The next day, a refresher class is given in the morning followed by some spirited driving with more lessons that evening.

On the final day, you’re given 4 different autocross courses to run; all to push your new-found driving knowledge to the test. Based on the success of last years’ inaugural crowd, the positive response from both Jet-Hot and Detroit Speed has been excellent. They both hope to keep this event going on annually for several years to come. So if you’re looking to sharpen up on your track skills, clear the month of October from your calendar and get ready to pencil in this years’ date.
