We wish we could get half our car projects done as quickly and as well as these guys have been doing with the incredible Hot Rod build found at Pro-Touring.com. What started out as a standard Factory Five 1933 Ford Street Rod is becoming an example of what you can accomplish with, say, over 400 hours worth of tin work? In layman’s terms, that is 10 weeks of work for the rest of us. To keep road noise to a minimum there are hi-temp insulating blankets between the layers of tin.

This Ridetech built Street Rod is already starting to make people drool, too, and the teaser video they posted on YouTube shows just why. It’s powered by a 427 cubic inch Dart aluminum block with Brodix Neal heads making approximately 630 hp and 600 lb ft of torque, this is on a car that probably weighs in around 2,300 pounds.

The plans are to hit the Goodguys shows and autocross it, and with the custom built suspension, super-wide tires all the way around, and 6 piston Baer Calipers it seems like they should have no trouble throwing this rod around in the turns. The suspension is a work of art, too. Just looking at the craftsmanship makes you wonder about putting this car through it’s paces.

As with any car, if you build it with all the best components but you don’t drive it like you stole it, then how much fun can it be? The Pro-Touring craze is helping a lot of people to realize the potential of their cars… and themselves.
