Every year, we like to give thanks to those servicemen who have served by defending this great nation of ours. With Memorial Day 2012 already in the bag, it’s good to know that there are organizations across the country who work with veterans year-round by offering them food, shelter, and medical supplies.
One of those organizations is Lacey’s House. Founded by Lacey Palmer and her father in 2009, the privately funded, full-service home and Veterans Resource Center (VRC) is the first and only of its kind in Oregon that has offered countless homeless vets the care that they needed. At one point, they housed 30 homeless veterans at their facility.
Unfortunately due to the difficult economic times, Lacey’s House had to make some cutbacks and was forced to downsize their facilities beginning in 2011. So to counter it, they created a raffle last year giving away a 52-inch flat screen TV, a 2010 Kawasaki Ninja, and last but not least, a ’70 Pontiac GTO.
This year, they’ve picked a Chevy as a giveaway car in the form of a ’69 Nova packing a legit, Yenko-tuned 427ci big-block cranking out 680hp. We heard about it through a YouTube video that’s quickly gaining popularity all over the internet.
The video in question is a short movie put together by Golden Era Films, and has what the filmmaker describes as a “cheesy, ‘80’s film” vibe. We agree, but we still dig the car and the [*spoiler alert*] girl who steals it towards the end of the clip.
If you want in on a chance to win this badass Nova (and you should), go to the Lacey’s House website, and order up some raffle tickets because Daniel Baldwin says so.
