MM&FF Unveils Amsoil-backed SEMA 2011 5.0L Project Car

If it seems as though the badass 2011 Mustang’s are coming out of the woodwork lately like a pack of wild ants, your observations would be spot-on. And in no way do we mean that as a bad thing. Everywhere you turn here at SEMA, there’s another unique take on what is already a killer set of wheels right off the showroom floor. As not only fans of the Mustang, but hardcore drag racing nuts as well, the recently-completed Muscle Mustangs & Fast Ford Amsoil-backed Mustang GT quickly gout our attention.

Built in conjunction with the Ford Motor Company for the SEMA show in just a short period of seven weeks, the guys at MM&FF completed everything on this project in-house but the paint and the supercharger install.

Utilizing the still-bone stock 5.0L powerplant with the Ford Racing supercharger bolted atop the manifold producing a yet unknown level of boost, the car produces what the MM&FF team believes to be over 500 rear wheel horsepower. And with a dry shot Nitrous Oxide Systems nitrous kit ported up that will eventually be converted to direct port, it should produce well in excess of 600 horses. A future overhaul of the engine internals and components is planned and will really make this Pony scream. On the exhaust end, the car sports a set of kooks long-tube headers to an X-pipe and full exhaust system out the back. Under the hood, you’ll also find some miscellaneous parts and pieces from the folks at Moroso and UPR Products. The engine also utilizes An SCT unit for tuning.

Underneath, the suspension has undergone some basic upgrades with a BMR panhard bar, Strange front struts and brakes, and a set of Blow By Racing lower control arms, and rides on a set of Weld’s Magnum wheels, wrapped in Nitto 325 Drag Radials on the rear.

The exterior of the car features a Rosuh front fascia and wing, a Cervini hood, and an incredible “Blue Realfire” color flame job done by Paul Hulman at Visual FX paint in Orange Park, FL up the center of the hood to the trunk lid, and also down the sides along the rocker panel that gives it a killer look. Inside, you’ll find a set of Corbeau racing seats with five-point racing harnesses, along with a Maximum Motorsports roll bar, and the pair of NOS nitrous bottles mounted where the rear seat was once located.

Besides its buildup for debut and display here at SEMA, the car will see some action at NMRA events and elsewhere in 2011 and beyond. Those instrumental in the buildup of the Amsoil MM&FF SEMA project car include Pete Epple, Mark Christ, and Evan Smith.
