SpeedFactory, the Georgia-based Mopar tuner, was showing their new SF700R Challenger last week in Las Vegas. Powered by a modified, all-aluminum Mopar engine block that is bored and stroked to 426cid (7.0 liters) and topped with a 2.4-liter, twin screw supercharger, the engine is expected to deliver over 700hp and almost 700 ft-lb of torque.
With fully forged internals and CNC-ported cylinder heads, the big block puts out these mighty numbers on 91-octane gas. Running the engine in an SRT8 Dodge Challenger required some additional considerations. A a heavy-duty 5-speed automatic transmission cars or a 6-speed manual gearbox with Spec clutch will be provided according to your preference.
Further changes for the SF700 Challenger include heavy duty, 1000HP half-shafts, Hotchkis performance suspension, front and rear strut tower braces and a Corsa Extreme stainless steel cat-back exhaust system. The latest Brembo GTR brake system and Michelin PS2 tires mounted on 20″ BBS Black Edition CH-R flow-formed wheels look after the higher calling of getting that power to the ground.
Pricing and availability for the 2011 SF700 model were not released.
For those with less demanding requirements, the company will also make a new model – the SF500 – available, based on the 5.7-liter HEMI engine, equipped with a Vortech centrifugal supercharger. The company says that this configuration has consistently produced over 540HP and 530 ft-lb of torque.
Additional modifications for the SF500 include a heavy-duty Level II 5spd transmission (for automatic cars), Hotchkis performance springs and sway bars, front and rear strut tower braces, and Corsa Extreme stainless steel cat back exhaust system. A BBS CH-R wheel and Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tire package is included, as well as several interior and badging additions.
With an MSRP of $46,900, the SF500 model comes with a 3-year, 36,000-mile warranty through select Dodge and Chrysler dealerships.
