Milodon has a five-decade track record of excellence, but you don’t stay in business that long without constantly looking for new ways to expand your horizons. For 2011, they’ve added a bunch of new oil pan applications, and improved their already impressive lineup of oil pumps.
They’ve got seven new pumps for big and small block Chevy engines, in both standard and high volume, and configured to fit standard, deep, and deep race pans. All feature two big improvements: G-10 ductile iron pumps that are vastly stronger than stock style housings, with thicker necks and better machining, and pickups with billet CNC-machined tube ends.
The oil pump is one place where you don’t want to save weight at the expense of durability, and just picking one of Milodon’s new pumps up you can feel the difference. Look closely at the pickup tube and you’ll see that instead of a pressed-in tube, they’ve used a CNC-machined piece completely welded to the tube for the critical pickup-to-pump junction. No more welding the pickup to the pump!
Milodon’s new oil pan applications include small block Mopar road and drag race pans, big block Chevy Mk IV and Mk V/Gen IV with with oil filter cutout, Mk V/Gen VI for V-drive marine applications, and AMC road race pans in internal and external pickup configurations. Both AMC pans feature full competition baffling with 5 doors and 7 baffle assemblies, and they’re 7 inches deep with a 6 quart capacity.
