If you’ve ever been to a car show here in the United States, chances are that before the day is out, at least one (and probably many more) of the show participants will be leaving two small smoking piles of rubber behind their rear tires. It’s as much a rite of passage for show participants as listening to Golden Oldies during their shows. That being said, this video is from a car show somewhere in these 50 states, featuring a wide variety of vehicles throwin’ down some heat onto the tarmac.
From the black Malibu that opens the show with a burnout in each direction to the flash of the Mopar running shoes one of the show-goers is wearing, there’s something for everyone here. There are all manner of street-going machines frying the hides for your pleasure; from a blown Camaro to a primer’n’red Cutlass convertible, to a lowered S-10 pickup that actually does one of the better burnouts of the show.
This all takes place on a well-traveled road that has regular traffic sprinkled between the smoke sessions. It’s also apparent that many of the participants need lessons on how to perform a proper burnout. The 44 (yes, we counted) radial hoops that are screaming for mercy are a true testament to the manufacturing capability of the tire companies. We have to believe that this video takes place in an area where there aren’t too many police officers, as the show goes on long enough to wonder where they are.
We’re also quite fond of the wheelie machine fashioned from a pit bike, although it appears incapable of a burnout. The best, however, is saved for the end, when a beautiful convertible Chevelle SS knocks one off going uphill. That’s good for the ol’ clutch packs.
