January is right around the corner and that means it’s only a matter of a few weeks before the annual Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction kicks off. As the first Barrett-Jackson auction of the 2013 season, this special event is ramping up to bring collectors and enthusiasts only the best vehicles to bid on, including nearly 50 cars from Barrett-Jackson’s hand-picked Salon Collection. The time immediately following the holidays can be rather boring, but if you head down to Scottsdale, Arizona from January 13th through the 20th for this grand event, we’re sure it’ll bring back all that holiday cheer and then some.

Since 1971, Barrett-Jackson has specialized in bringing some of the nicest, rarest and most sought after automobiles to the public to bid on at their national auctions. These events not only attract thousands of collectors and enthusiasts, they also give you the rare opportunity to bid on some of the nicest collector cars in the country.
This coming auction season promises to be no different with the kickoff once again happening in Barrett-Jackson’s home town, Scottsdale, AZ.
But this auction is far from even your typical Jackson event. Not only will there be nearly 1,000 muscle cars, hot rods, exotics, and resto-mods that cross the auction block, the Scottsdale auction will feature the return of Barrett-Jackson’s 5000 series, including the Salon Collection that features nearly 50 of the world’s most prestigious and sought-after vehicles hand picked by BJ for bidding. These vehicles, including one-of-a-kind cars, prototypes and some of the rarest vehicles to have ever existed will be auctioned off on January 19th starting at 5pm.
This highly sought-after 1964 Impala SS featuring an undocumented 409ci engine under the hood will be auctioned off at Scottsdale on Tuesday January 15th.
In addition to cars from the Salon Collection, the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction will also play host to nearly 30 Shelby vehicles auctioned off in honor of Carol Shelby, a number of Hollywood cars, like the 1966 #1 Batmobile, and of course, dozens of our beloved classic Chevys.

You'll find many of Chevy's heavy hitters at the Scottsdale auction, including this fresh 396ci engine under the hood of a very clean 1965 Chevelle 300.
Among the Chevys we found in Barrett-Jackson’s list of vehicles are an incredibly nice 1964 Impala SS boasting a desirable 409cui engine, four-speed manual transmission and a Tuxedo Black on black finish, a gorgeous 1965 Chevelle 300 two-door hardtop with a fresh 396ci engine under the hood backed by a Muncie 4-speed and a 3.70-geared Posi traction rearend, and a clean-cut 1966 Chevy II with an upgraded 327ci engine built to L79 specs, M21 transmission and Detroit Locker Posi traction rearend. All of these Chevys and more will be up for bid at the Scottsdale event with no reserve.
Barrett-Jackson always puts on fantastic events and by going to their flagship Scottsdale auction, you’re bound to be impressed. Tickets for the event are still available so now’s the perfect time to plan your after-holiday vacation! Check out Barrett-Jackson.com for ticket details.
