Have you ever wanted to own a movie car? Well, thanks to Barrett-Jackson you could have the chance to own one of the hottest cars from the popular Fast and Furious movie series as soon as next month. That’s right, the 1970 Charger from Fast and Furious and Fast Five could actually be yours.
Crossing the auction block at the 2013 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction in January is none-other than one of the famed 1970-bodied Chargers driven by Vin Diesel’s character throughout the Fast and the Furious series. This particular car was built for Fast and Furious, the fourth movie of the franchise and used once again in Fast Five. If you’re a muscle car fan and fell in love with this beastly Charger like we did, now is your opportunity to own this fantastic feature car.
Unlike many of the stunt cars used to create scenes in movies, this particular Charger is considered a Hero Car, one that is a completely functional and a highly detailed movie prop. The second one made for the Fast and the Furious franchise, the Charger is technically a 1969 model, done up with parts from 1968, 1969 and 1970 Chargers to look like a sleek 1970 model. Either way, it’s one fine piece of machinery.
Under the hood, you’ll find a small-block 350ci engine attached to an automatic transmission. Although this may not be the drivetrain combination you’d expect, we’re sure with the blower sticking out of the hood it packs enough of a punch to keep things interesting. In addition to the interior and exterior aesthetics you saw in the movies, the car even comes complete with its special stunt-brake still attached to the rear wheels.
Finished in gloss black paint, the Fast and Furious Hero Car 2 is one mighty looking machine. And with copies of the title and a letter of authenticity from Universal Studios, a receipt for the most recent paint job, movie posters, stunt jacket, build photos and copy of the original movie script, this car is quite the collectors item for muscle car and movie enthusiasts alike.
The Fast and Furious Charger takes the stage at the Scottsdale Auction on Saturday January 19th, so if you’re aiming to get your hands on this fantastic movie car, you’ll have to start planning pretty quick. Pulling out a loan for the purchase price wouldn’t be a bad idea either as we expect this car to sell for quite a pretty penny, although there won’t be any reserve to battle.
