If you’re in the market for a cool Gasser project, look no further. This sweet ’65 Comet 2-Door Post car appears to be ready for a complete overhaul and comes with an assortment of parts all ready to go. Some of the work has been done already, but the car is a blank canvas waiting to be painted.
There’d be no reason to keep the current engine; not when you can procure a big-horse replacement from any number of online vendors for a reasonable price. Fresh upholstery and a number of other hot-rod parts are also included with the car, right down to the trunk-mount battery and fuel cell. A 289-cube Ford engine backed by a three-speed TopLoader isn’t exactly the best combo out there, but it’s a great way to get started while you work the rest of the car into shape.
According to the seller, the car has never been finished and never been raced, but as always, you can only take that for what it’s worth. Since the car’s already got a set of Ground Grabber traction bars and a 9-inch rearend with 4.56’s, how could we know?
Regardless, the new floors and other added items make this a tantalizing sale, if the car can be had for a number you can live with. In fact, the current bid on the car is under $5k, but the reserve hasn’t been met yet either.
What would it take to pick this thing up and get started on the project? We’re not sure, but if you’re so inclined, now’s your chance to take a chance on what could be one cool hotrod. We really need to stop perusing ebay for things we can’t afford to add to the stable…
