In the Chevrolet performance world, nothing quite comes close to the notable builds of Callaway Cars. Not only are Callaway Camaros and Corvettes highly sought after for their performance, prestige and unique presence, they’re also widely known around the industry as a top standard for anything related to specialty Chevrolets. And that’s what makes the opportunity to purchase one of Callaway’s development vehicles such a unique privilege.
Recently we came across a flier advertising the sale of the 2010 Callaway SC 572 Development Camaro, a car that has served Callaway in developing new technology, better performance and all-around superior products for the fifth-generation Camaro. This car was also used as an emissions test vehicle, a magazine feature car and a demonstration vehicle. If you’ve ever wanted a car fully immersed in the Callaway tradition, this is the Camaro for you.
Inside the car, you’ll find an Eaton TVS2300 supercharger finished in ChromeCoat that gives the 2SS/RS Camaro a hefty boost to 572bhp and 541 lb-ft of torque. The powerhouse is reined in by a 6-speed manual gearbox topped with a Callaway short throw shifter, that is only a fraction of the Callaway equipment the car holds.
Underneath the car is a Callaway Level One suspension package, Callaway front and rear roll bars, and 20-inch, 9-spoke Callaway alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli P ZERO rubber. To top it off, a Le Mans GT brake package gives the Camaro plenty of stopping power.
Aesthetically, the car is trimmed in the Carbon Package, a package offering a unique front splitter, rear spoiler, and rear diffuser which shows off the car’s quad exhaust.
Finished in Silver Ice Metallic with Ebony details, this car leaves nothing to be desired inside or out with the inclusion of power seats, a Boston Acoustics sound system, built-in Bluetooth and a power window hood.
Used rigorously to perfect products for the latest Camaro generation, this car has acquired just over 59,000 miles in its short life time, but Callaway states that the car was maintained in first-class order and will make an extremely nice and unique ride for its next owner.
The car is currently for sale at Courtesy Chevrolet in San Jose, California where they welcome prospective buyers to come test drive the car and see it in person. With a 12 month/ 12,000 mile warranty on all the Callaway components, the car is currently listed for $53,900, nearly $30k less than a comparable new Callaway.
