First off, this is not a real car. The brainchild of 3D artist Márk Mészáros, Mark used programs like Lightroom, V-Ray and Photoshop to create this rendering of a post-apocalyptic ’69 Dodge Daytona. Inspired by the cars of the “Fallout” video games, went to town tweaking an image of one of the most iconic cars of NASCAR’s history into a crossbreed of the Mad Max trilogy and Joe Dirt.
It only makes sense that a car so heavily inspired by aeronautics would tout a jet turbine, but its all the details that make this high resolution image so impressive, like the “EL CHORRO” pin-up art on the door, the weathered tire tread on the BFG Radial T/A’s, or the worn out “Happy Face” decal on the fuel tank.
We do laugh a little at the open headers poking out of the fenders while dual exhaust tips jut out of the rear and the tow-truck tow hook dangling from the rear bumper. But otherwise, this rendering is just as good as those images we see of imagined future cars. Now if Mark can only whip up a two-door version of the current Charger with a better-looking front fascia…
